Original London Underground ‘Bakerloo Line‘ enamel cab destination plate

Single sided Enamel sign with brown with white lettering with brass ends. Measures 60cm (L) by 10cm (H). Condition: Excellent used condition.

This sign came from 1938 stock Underground cabs. It was located below the station desintation plate. (see photo).

The Baker Street and Waterloo Railway opened in 1906 and the contraction of the name to Bakerloo rapidly caught on leading to the railway company marketing itself as the ‘Bakerloo Tube’ from as early as 1907.
