Movie Poster "From Earth to The Moon" US One Sheet (1958)

£795.00

Jules Verne's From The Earth to The Moon (1958)

Produced by National Screen Service Corp. for Warner Bros. Artist unknown. US One Sheet (41 x 27 inches). Linen Backed and Framed (UV Glass). Print Code 58/431. Exhibited at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017. Excellent condition.

This stunning original poster promotes Byron Haskin's 1958 adaptation of Jules Verne's novel "From The Earth to The Moon". The film is based in 1868, American inventor Victor Barbicane develops a powerful military explosive that he also uses as fuel for a moon-bound rocket manned by "three men and a girl".

The film captured the contemporary fascination with space exploration following the 1957 launch by the Soviet Union of the Sputnik satellite. In 1958, the National Aeronautical Space Agency (NASA) was established and America launched its first satellite, Explorer I, from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This actual poster was exhibited at the "I can See The Future" Poster Exhibition at the Royal Albert Hall, which took place Sept-Nov 2017. There is information on the back of the frame.

Collection from Bristol area. I happy to meet in a mutual convenient location in the South of England. I would also consider selling it unframed to enable international shipping.
