Sony Corporation. Injection moulded plastic. circa early 1980s. Measurements 37cm (H) 32cm (D) 30cm (W). Condition: Overall in excellent condition for age. Some minor bumps, marks and stains.
This cool retro display stand was produced by Sony Corporation to showcase their latest Walkman in stores. Whilst there is no date, we believe it originates from the early 1980s. The first Walkman was released in Japan in 1979 (Sony TPS-L2) and over 250 million portable cassette players were sold worldwide before Sony migrated to solely to digital formats.
1980's Sony point-of-sale material is extremely rare and increasing collectable. This display stand would be perfect to display a vintage walkman or other small vintage sony products. It would also convert into an amazing lamp and/or mobile phone charger!
