Designed by Russ Eglin / Dewyntners Ltd for Cameron Mackintosh Limited 1988. Offset lithograph on paper. 51cm x 29.5cm. Condition: Excellent, near mint.

This exceptionally rare poster for the West End production of Miss Saigon is dated 1988, the year before the show opened in September 1989 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London. Following their success of Les Miserables (1985), Miss Saigon was the second major success of Claud-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boubil working with Cameron Mackintosh. The iconic helicopter/face visual was designed by Russ Eglin of Dewytners, the creative process is described by Elgin and Cameron Mackintosh in the documentary “The Heat is On: The making of Miss Saigon”.

Miss Saigon ran for 10 years in London (1989-1999) and Broadway (1991-2001) with many tours and a two-year revival in both cities.
