We can only assume this is an exceptionally rare poster given that we found no other examples or even images of this poster online. Furthermore, with no printed or print code we have also been unable to establish with certainty the year of this poster (and the show).
We have settled on 1915, based on the dates on the poster: Since the first show in 1907, The IHS always ended on a Saturday narrowing down our options to 1909, 1915 and 1920. In 1909 the show took place a week earlier and in 1920 the show was incorporated into the Olympic Games in London.
This is in ‘Panel Poster’, a format almost exclusively used in London Underground stations from 1910. The artwork is by renowned equine painter and sculptor Adrian Jones (1845–1938).
