This rare poster announces the “withdrawal of passenger railway services” at Clevedon, Somerset and is dated August 1966. Clevedon was among many stations closed following the Beecham review that saw 55% of Britain's stations culled.

The advent of the railway in the first half of the 19th century lead to the growth in popularity of seaside towns like Clevedon; the clean air and leisure activities made accessible with the arrival of the railway. Clevedon station opened in 1847 was later marketed as the Gem of Sunny Somerset.
