1924 Imperial Airways London-Paris Route Map
Handley-Page map of the London-Paris Air Route (1924)
Published by British Petroleum Company for Handley-Page Transport. Measure 76cm x 50cm (open). Monochrome lithograph. Folded in card covers.
This wonderful birds-eye-view map shows the passenger route taken by Handley-Page Transport between London and Paris. Handley-Page was one of a handful of small commercial airlines that merged to form Imperial Airways in 1924 - which is why the cover of this map has been sniped with an Imperial Airways sticker.
Founded in 1919, Handley-Page Transport was the airline formed from its aeroplane manufacturing company. Its route to France was the first commercial overseas route from the UK.
