‘Bayswater’

3-part enamel sign with bronze mounting frame, mounted on a custom backboard. Circa 1970s. Produced by Burnham Signs for London Transport. Measures 84cm x 69cm (33" x 27"). Excellent in-situ condition.

Bayswater London Underground station was opened in 1868 on the Metropolitan Railway and today serves District and Circle Lines . These bronze and enamel ‘roundels’ were installed on the platform walls from the 1950s.

Bayswater station is located on the north side of Kensington Gardens in the City of Westminster and is a highly affluent and cosmopolitan residential district.
