Gill Lancaster’s beautiful artwork was created to promote the New Zealand Cricket teams tour of England. It was used to promote all of their fixtures, this one being against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). This followed three tests against England. The MCC are one of the worlds oldest cricket clubs, Lord’s is their home ground and they own the copyright for the laws of Cricket. The MCC organised many of the international tours including New Zealand’s visit to England.
