Apple Computers Poster (c.1985)

£495.00

Apple c.1985.

Offset Lithograph. Designed by Rob Janoff for Apple Computer Inc. 87cm x 60cm. Condition: Excellent. Stored rolled.

This stunning Apple poster dates to around 1985 and features first Apple logo designed by Rob Janoff in 1977. The use of the rainbow spectrum in the logo was a nod towards Apple’s Apple II, which was the world’s first computer with colour display. The bite out of the apple was simply to make it look more like an apple but clearly lent itself to a nerdy play on words (bite/byte), a fitting reference for a tech company.

Whilst there is no print code, the The 'Apple' text is shown in the Apple Garamond typeface, introduced in 1984 and examples of these posters have been attributed to the launch of the Mackintosh.
